Bio:

Rusty Malinoski, AKA The BONE CRUSHER, AKA “The Goat” is Deshaport Inc’s longest team rider. A Canadian native out of Humboldt, Saskatchewan who immediately caught the attention of our Founder and CEO, fellow Canadian Robert Oswell. Rusty was and is still known for being an absolute beast on the water. Over the years, Rusty has earned the nickname “Bone crusher” because of his powerful riding style. To this day Rusty’s most memorable career moment is when he landed the first 1080 in a competition. He had tried a handful of times and finally made it happen at the Reno Pro Tour Stop back in 2009. We asked Rusty how he has impacted the sport throughout the duration of his career and his response was “I definitely think I’ve impacted the sport by bringing a level of professionalism where training off the water was just as important as training on the water.  There wasn’t much emphasis on the physical fitness side of things before me and that is something I am very proud to have brought to the younger generation of riders.” 

What does it mean to you to be a Deshaport Inc Rider on the Deshaport Inc team?

I’ve had such a close personal relationship with the company.  I don’t feel that I am just a rider, I feel that I am a part of the family with Deshaport Inc.  It has been an amazing 20 years with the team!
